# Inviting people

> Give clients, builders and contractors access to a project by email. No password needed.

Each project has a **People with access** card on its **Overview** page in Studio.

## Invite someone

  <Step title="Open the project's Overview">
    In Studio, open the project and go to **Overview**.

  <Step title="Enter their email and role">
    In **People with access**, type their email under **Email to invite** and choose **Client**, **Builder** or **Contractor**.

  <Step title="Send the invitation">
    Click **Send invitation**. They get an email with their link. You can also click **Copy link** and send the link yourself.

When they click the link, the portal shows *Opening your project…*, signs them in and opens the project. They don't need a password.

## Good to know

* Invitation links last **30 days**. To give someone a fresh link, click **New link** next to their name.
* The card shows when each person last opened the project.
* To remove someone, click remove next to their name. Their link stops working straight away, and if they're signed in they immediately stop seeing files.
* Invitations are for clients, builders and contractors. Your own team uses **Studio** accounts.

  Anyone who has an invitation link can open that project as the person it was sent to. Send each link only to the person it's for.
