# Decisions

> Ask your client or builder to approve a decision, and keep a record of who approved it and when.

Use decisions for things that need a clear yes, such as *Kitchen joinery finish: oak veneer*.

## Add a decision (Studio)

1. Open the project's **Overview**.
2. Click **New decision**, describe it and choose who approves it: **Client approves** or **Builder approves**.
3. The decision appears on the Overview card and in the **Open decisions** count.

To withdraw a decision, remove it from the Overview card.

## Approving (client or builder)

The person who approves sees the decision on the project's Overview with an **Approve** button. When they click it, the decision changes to **Approved ✓**.

Linkatect records who approved it and when. Only the chosen role can approve, and Studio can't approve on a client's behalf.
